The clinical diagnosis of ADHD has been around for some time now, and for those parents that have a child who have ADHD, there is no question in their minds that ADHD is a real problem, as opposed to being merely a short term adjustment, or attitude problem that a child might have. There are those that argue that ADHD doesn’t even exist as a real disorder, except as a way of classification within the school systems for the purpose of shuffling unruly student out of the way.

Studies have linked risky behavior in teens to a variety of factors, including chemical imbalances, peer pressure, trauma, exposure to lead, too much protein and not enough carbohydrates, rejection by peers and television. Risky behavior has also long been identified with race and ethnicity and family income and structure. But in the fall 1998 issue of the Journal of American Psychology, neuropsychologist Deborah Yurgelun-Todd, Director of Neuropsychology and Cognitive Neuroimaging at McLean Hospital Brain Imaging Center, the psychiatric teaching hospital at Harvard University, linked risky behavior in teens to their underdeveloped prefrontal cortexes.

Question:
I have a 13 year old son that seems to have symptons of ADD, i.e. hard time focusing, staying on task, easily distracted, but not hyper. If he were to start taking Focus ADDult, how long would he need to use it? Can it be stopped at any time without any consequence to his body? Thanks for your help.

Make a paste from a little oatmeal and water. Apply to face and allow to dry. Gently wipe off with a damp wash cloth.
Mash 1/2 banana and add 1 tablespoon honey and 2 tablespoons sour cream. Apply to face and let set for about 10 minutes. Gently wipe off with a damp wash cloth.
Two tablespoons of cornmeal mixed with enough water to make a thick paste makes a great inexpensive facial mask. Gently apply to face and wash off.
