There is no fixed cause behind the thyroid conditions of hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism. There are various causes behind a disruption in thyroid function and in some cases there is an autoimmune component that is involved. The autoimmune response creates a thyroid condition where the body’s immune system starts attacking the thyroid gland instead of protecting it from infectious agents.

The word drug is derived from druug, Swedish for ‘dried plants’. A large proportion of the early conventional medicines and drugs that were discovered, originated from plants.
Aspirin was originally developed after isolating acetysalicyclic acid from a plant known as meadowsweet (Latin: Spiraea). Quinine has its origins in cinchona, medicinal bark of the cinchona tree. Morphine and codeine have their roots in poppy plant.
However, there are certain aspects that differentiate conventional drugs from herbal remedies and homeopathic remedies, as well. These are:

Homoeopathy is often dismissed by those who refuse to believe that a remedy diluted so extensively can treat or cure a disease. The contention of protagonists of homeopathy, however, is that if an infinitesimally small reduction (in proportion to the fluids present in the body) of essential minerals can cause a disease, the same can also cure it. However, the best evidence of the efficacy of homeopathy can be provided by those who have benefited from it.

Homoeopathy is one peculiar therapy that does not have anything in common with other therapies in terms of the basic fundamentals that it uses. The only similarity that one can hope to find is in the way a vaccine works to prevent disease. Just as a vaccine is an immunogen consisting of a suspension of weakened or dead pathogenic cells injected in order to stimulate the production of antibodies to fight a disease, homoeopathic remedies in their dilute form cure the same disease that they cause in their undiluted form.

A homeopath’s approach to any particular symptom that the body shows is different from those who practice conventional medicine. Homeopathy perceives all symptoms as a manifestation of body’s struggle to self-heal. Homeopaths normally do not prescribe medication for individual symptoms. For a successful homeopathic treatment the professional must examine the patient and get answers to a lot of questions regarding lifestyle, eating and sleeping habits, fads, if any, family history and much more.

Despite a proven track record, homeopathy remains an underrated therapy. One of the major reasons for the situation that homeopathy is in, is the lack of funding for medical homeopathy research and the inability to patent its natural products.

Homeopathy can seem like a completely foreign concept to those of us brought up on mainstream, allopathic medicine. The principles of homeopathy are easily understood, however, by even novice users. With a little study and good reference materials, you can understand and apply homeopathic medicine to your family’s health.

Prostatitis. Premature ejaculation. Arthritis. Erectile dysfunction. And gout. These are just a few of the extremely common conditions that are constantly presented to me by male clients, friends, and family members. Often, they consult me as a sort of “last resort.” I’m a homeopathic practitioner, after all, and many people in my world consider homeopathy to be an “alternative” medicine that is a little too “woo woo” to treat such “manly” disorders.
