The way prices of almost everything are shooting up, every one wants to buy things at a discount to save money. Discount sales can only save you money if the product you are buying is what you actually need. The fact is that good and premium quality products get sold off first and the stores offer discounts on inferior brands, products or sizes that do not sell. In our desire to save money we fail to recognize that we may end up buying inferior quality products. These products need to be replaced faster than expected and therefore do not result in any actual or true savings.

Most parents do not realize the importance of a baby towel. Babies are prone to catch a cold easily as they loose heat very quickly. After a bath, a baby should immediately be wrapped in a towel to dry and retain body heat. A hooded towel is a better option as it covers the head along with the full body of the baby.

Mass production has dealt a stunning blow to the customized product market of practically every product. Crib mattresses are one of the products that has been hit the hardest. It is becoming increasingly difficult to locate mattresses like the ones made by family run businesses that paid special attention to the customer’s needs and specific requirements.
Economies of scale have encouraged most mattress brands to use synthetic foam produced in huge plants. The only thing that distinguishes mattresses of one brand from another is the pillow top and fabric used to cover the same foam underneath.

As a new mother you might face a problem with your spare time especially if you have been a working woman. It becomes all the more difficult if you cannot depend on a granny to fill in and do not want to leave your darling baby at a crèche. Crèches are expensive too and you may decide that sitting at home and taking care of your own baby makes more commercial and economic sense.

While shopping for babies we usually tend to forget that the baby will soon outgrow the stuff we are buying. Obviously, buying oversized dresses is not an option but there are lots of other items that can be bought in larger sizes to last you for a loner period of time.

There is a vast difference between depression in children and in adults. Most of the times, parents do not notice depression in children and it remains untreated. Diagnosing depression in children is also more complicated than diagnosing depression in adults. The physician needs to interview the parents to understand whether the condition can be classified as clinical depression or not. As parents are likely to be biased due to their own motives, diagnosis may require interviewing friends, school mates and teachers also at times.

Babies grow up faster than we normally think they do. In no time, the young infant that you got so used to cuddle has grown up and started crawling. Another couple of months and the baby would get up on his own and take his first steps - a moment that parents generally cherish for long.

When expecting a baby, we spend a lot of time in matching colors of the bedding with the crib and the nursery and stick to the established perceptions of which colors suit girls and boys. And all this thinking is done even though we know that the color of the bedding or the style of the curtains will not make any difference to the baby at all.

Since time immemorial mothers have been swaddling their babies. Babies usually get disturbed while sleeping by their own movements. Swaddling can help them in getting a sound sleep and wrapping them up helps make them sleep comfortably. Swaddling also ensures that the baby gets a snug feeling. This feeling is similar to being hugged by a blanket and is closer to what they have been used to inside the womb. It gives a feeling of safety and protection to the baby ensuring a comfortable sleep.
