Question:
My son haas been taking BrightSpark and Focus. It has been helping him a lot, but lately he has started thinking that he can’t do things at school, he doesn’t consider himself capable. This is an issue medicine can’t resolve. What can I tell him to make him feel better and to make him trust himself?
Thanks a lot for your help.
Rita
Answer:
Hi Rita
Thanks for your query. As self confidence is so important for your son, we can understand the concern you feel for him.
As children learn best by experience than by what we tell them, the ‘trick’ would be to try and provide your son with as many positive experiences as possible in order to build up his self esteem. At school, speak privately to his teacher and ask that your son be provided with leadership opportunities or special responsibilities in the classroom. Outside school, get him involved in activities that will help him feel good about himself. You could, for example, enroll him in a martial arts class or an art class – depending on what his preferences are.
Concentration problems and low self esteem often go hand in hand with low serotonin levels in the brain. We can therefore also recommend that you add our MindsootheJr. to the Focus and brightSpark. Although you are correct in saying that medication alone (even herbal remedies) cannot provide the full answer to self esteem, MindsootheJr. will help your son feel more positive and confident in general – which will also have an effect on his self esteem.
