If you encourage positive thinking and look at things in an objective manner without allowing your judgment to be marred by preconceived notions, you are almost always likely to accept the situation. This allows you to decide what you can do about a situation.
With a positive frame of mind you are like to come up with creative solutions to a situation. Negative emotions and feelings and a feeling of anxiety and stress at the turn of events, on the contrary, are likely to lead you to a frenzy making things worse.
In cases, where nothing can be done to make things better, there is a need to accept the inevitable. Spirituality, faith in the Almighty and surrendering yourself to accepting the inevitable are options in such cases. This does not mean to imply that you do not try your best to change what you can. But it is a wise man who realizes where efforts are likely to be wasted and therefore concentrates on other areas where he can make a difference.
It may be easy to pen down the fact that a positive attitude and acceptance of circumstances helps relieve stress. Achieving the same in a practical situation is tough. You may know that you cannot do anything about the situation when you lose a dear one, but accepting the situation is definitely not an easy task to accomplish.
Such changes in mental attitude take time to develop and a concerted effort is required for the same. Breathing and physical exercises and meditation prepare the mind to be more receptive to positive ideas over time. Expression and sharing your worries with friends and support groups is another way of pushing out negativity from your mindset.
