It is embarrassing to have warts and even more embarrassing getting caught purchasing over-the-counter remedies for warts. Using natural remedies that you can find around your home is less embarrassing and work just fine.
Do you know what warts are? Warts are small benign growths that appear on the skin typically on the hands or feet but can also appear on the elbows, fingers, forearms, face, knees, and skin around your nails. Typically they appear on skin that receives constant friction or skin that has received trauma, or abrasions. You can also get warts on the larynx (voicebox) and when this happens you will notice hoarseness of voice. These warts are called “common warts” and are usually small, flat or raised, dry or moist, and may have a rough or a pitted surface that is the same color as the surrounding skin or maybe a little darker. They can vary in size from a pinhead to the size of a small pea. Warts are very contagious because they are caused by viruses and can be transmitted from one person to another by a break in the skin and contact with the wart. They spread faster if they are picked, trimmed, bitten or touched. You can spread warts on your face by shaving your face. You do not feel pain or itching from common warts.
Plantar warts are those found on the feet and the underside of the toes. They are bumpy, white growths that resemble calluses and are tender to the touch and may even bleed if the surface of the wart is trimmed. These kinds of warts have a hard center. Plantar warts are only found on the feet or underside of the toes and do not spread to other parts of the body.
Genital warts are moist, soft growths that are located in and around the anus, groin, penis, scrotum or vagina. Males can get genital warts in the urethra. They are usually pink or red in color and look like tiny heads of cauliflower. They often form in clusters, but you can get one instead of a cluster too. Genital warts are contagious and are transmitted by anal, oral, or vaginal sexual intercourse and are highly contagious. The genital wart is caused by the HPV virus and do not typically appear until approximately 3 months after being contacted. This is why the HPV virus is so highly contagious because a person can be passing it on for 3 months without knowing they have caught the virus. An infant born to a mother who has genital warts may also catch the virus from the mother.
Popular natural remedies for warts are fresh aloe vera juice applied directly to the wart, proteolytic enzymes, papaya, pineapple, banana peel and figs all contain enzymes that when digested dissolve warts. Milkweed is a weed that has been used in North America to cure warts. Take the fresh milky sap of the leaf or stem and apply to the warts once a day. This is a quick and non-irritating way to get rid of warts.
You can also reduce warts by eating asparagus, citrus fruits, eggs, garlic, and also onions.
